I’ve been looking forward to this photo session for a while. The inspiration has come upon me when I realized that how much fun we’re going to have documenting this very exciting time in Natalia’s life. I really enjoyed working with mommy and daddy and some of the photographs I’ll share with you really captured their beauty.
I was recently hiried by a young couple to photograph their wonderful toddler. We had lots of fun playing around the house and in the park and let me be frank with you – this was the most expressive 9 month old I’ve ever met.
This weekend I had a wonderful opportunity to photograph a beautiful family on the upper east side. As I arrived, I was greeted by two amazingly energetic boys – twins and we instantly hit it off. I really enjoyed meeting the entire family and we had LOTS of fun photographing. Here’s a sneak peek

This adorable 3 month old was one of the happiest babies I have ever seen. He was all smiles the entire time I was with him up until he fell asleep and have us a chance to capture angel-like photographs of him. Ari also happens to be incredibly cute! This little guy was one of the best newborns I have photographed this year. He was so alert and curious the entire time I was there. I have been anxiously waiting to meet him. I am guilty, just as most parents are of “loosing focus” when photographing my their children. I get excited by the emotional exchange while being submersed in the moment and lose sight of “technicalities” of a successful photograph.
Unfortunately, when a viewer looks at his photograph the “technicalities” distract from the emotional connection and weaken the overall compelling effect.
In the example below (a photograph I recently took of my wife and son) I didn’t notice Adam’s bright white socks with an overwhelming “PUMA” brand. Let me know if you find the socks as distracting as I do.
Several weeks ago I spent a day with an amazing young family on the Upper East Side documenting a new chapter in their life – arrival of a wonderful baby Lucas. It just so happens that Lucas has an older sister who is not only beautiful but also relentless. I had a lot of fun chasing after her with my camera and occasionally I was able to catch her standing still just long enough .. Here’s a sneak preview:
Recently I was hired to do yet another environmental family session in Brooklyn, NY and the client really wanted my input on the best location. Seeing how the little model is 2.5 years old I figure what better place than a luna park coney island? She loved it and so did I. Thanks to Geni, Alex and Fiona for making this photo session so much fun!
